The Penrose Lounge (Broadmoor South Building, top of the South Tower)
The Penrose Lounge has large windows to enjoy sunset views of the lake and Cheyenne Mountains so amazing, it will make you forget to sip your drink. Bar Manager and Sommelier Thomas Fuller offers a Colorado take on classic cocktails featuring such innovations as the Bourbon Apricot Smash made with muddled mint and apricots and Breckenridge Bourbon. The mélange has an earthy flavor with just a hint of the sweet apricot. The Strawberry Rhubarb Daisy, (the daisy is predecessor of the margarita), is made with Gran Centenario Plata Tequila, with fresh rhubarb, strawberry, lime and agave nectar. This pretty pink drink is both garden-y and fruity. Both of these cocktails come in non-alcoholic versions. The Penrose Lounge is also home to Colorado’s most expensive cocktail, The Leyenda.
