What’s better than opening presents Christmas morning? Going out for a drink Christmas evening! In Denver, that is possible because these fine establishments will be open and serving. Everyone should note the Denver Broncos will play the Kansas City Chiefs that evening, and hopefully deliver a win as a holiday gift to the city. Game time is 6:30 PM. If you didn’t get tickets to the game for Christmas or you just want to get out of the house, enjoy these places that will be open on Christmas Day.

Departure
This Cherry Creek restaurant and bar will be open from 1-8 PM on Christmas Day. While the restaurant is offering a special Christmas meal, the bar will be open and serving from a special holiday a la carte menu of traditional Asian holiday dishes and drinks. (249 Columbine St.; 720-772-5020)

Highland Tap and Burger
The Tap is always open and will welcome guests with friendly smiles and a chilled beer or a warm toddy to top off Christmas Day. The bar and restaurant open at 10 AM. If the sun comes out, enjoy a drink on the patio. (2219 W. 32nd Ave.; 720-287-4493)

Highland Tavern
The drinks begin pouring at 4 PM on Christmas Day at Highland Tavern and will keep pouring until around midnight. The kitchen will be closed. (3400 Navajo St.; 303-433-1990)

Hard Rock Café
Located on the 16th Street Mall, Christmas is a great time to take your out-of-town guests to the Hard Rock for dinner and drinks. The Cafe will be open for business from 2-9 PM on Christmas Day. (500 16th St., Ste. 120; 303-623-3191)

Simms Steakhouse
Elevate your Christmas with dinner and a view of the Denver skyline at Simms Steakhouse in Lakewood. Simms will open at 4 PM on Christmas so you’ll be able to spend the day with family and then go out for dinner and drinks at night. For those wanting dinner, reservations recommended. The Corner Office
This restaurant and bar near the Denver Center for the Performing Arts will be open regular hours and serving the regular menu all day on Christmas. (1401 Curtis St.; 303-825-6500)

ViewHouse Ballpark and Centennial
Both locations of the ViewHouse are open for normal business hours on Christmas Day. Ballpark is open from 10 AM to 2 AM and Centennial is open from 10 AM to midnight.
