BrewDog is Releasing a $20,000 Beer Stuffed in a Taxidermied Squirrel
BrewDog, the world’s first crowd-funded brewery, is releasing to beer to anyone who invests at least $20,000 in their crowdfunding campaign to open a brewery in Columbus, Ohio.
The beer is named The End of History and its brewing is meant to mark the repeal of Ohio’s restrictive 12% ABV cap on beer production. Oh, and it's packaged inside a taxidermied squirrel.
The brewer’s described the rare beer in a blog post: “The End of History is our iconic 55% abv Belgian-style ale brewed with nettles and juniper, so we are unleashing the full potential of our American brewkit right from the start, flipping two fingers at the defeated neo-prohibitionists at the same time.”
As far as the taxidermy goes, BrewDog co-founder James Watt told Time, ““I absolutely love the beautiful, yet disturbing nature of taxidermy, so packaging our most evocative beer in such an unconventional, BrewDog way made sense,”
This evocative beer will be one of the rarest out there when it debuts due to the fact that BrewDog’s Equity of Punks crowd-funders will be the only people to have access to it. This is also the first time in 6 years the brewery is producing The End of History, which in its last run only saw 12 bottles.
If you are interested in investing in the brewery’s venture to the States the minimum investment for two shares of the company’s stock is $95. The brewery is looking to raise $50 million by February 2017, but will still open the Ohio brewery regardless of if the fundraising goal is met.
