Though billed as a smart cup, Vessyl, a new high-tech tumbler that recognizes the contents of what’s poured into it and sends that data and the drinker’s drinking habits to their smartphone, comes off as one of the dumbest inventions of the 21st century.
For $199, it can all be yours, provided you can hold out for it. It doesn’t begin shipping until 2015. Save for those afflicted with short-term memory loss, who on Earth needs a high-tech gadget to remind them of what beverage they’re sipping on seconds after pouring it?
