Wazee Supper Club Serving Up POTUS Punch
In honor of President Obama’s surprise visit to this friendly pizza joint in downtown Denver last Tuesday, the folks behind the bar at Wazee Supper Club have created the POTUS Punch. No Secret Service required.
The Prez was in Denver to deliver a speech on Wednesday, but arrived Tuesday night and made his way around LoDo. His first stop was the Wazee to meet and have dinner with some Denver citizens who had written letters to the White House. After dinner, he then stepped outside to shake hands with locals who had gathered outside the restaurant on 15th Street. The POTUS entourage then made their way to the Wynkoop, owned by Colorado’s Governor John Hickenlooper, where the Prez and the Gov had a beer and a game of pool. That’s a pretty typical evening in LoDo if you ask us.
The POTUS Punch is made with vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, mint and champagne. The bar calls it a sparkly, not-too-political punch for hot summer days. Cost is an economy-friendly $6.
