Denver’s largest outdoor cocktail party happened last Thursday, June 19, as the party animals came out to play at Do at the Zoo 2014. This year marks the 25th anniversary of this fun and unique event as people left the kids at home to enjoy the zoo’s wild side at night. Guests were treated to some fabulous eats by Denver’s best restaurants and washed it down with some fantastic beverages. Panzano and the pan-seared scallops with crispy pork belly, basil and watercress salsa verda with smoked paprika won the voting in the Savory Dish category while Sugar Mill with the delicious cinnamon roll parfait was voted favorite in the Sweet Dish category. The event raised over $640,000 for the general zoo operations fund so by eating and drinking some fine dishes, the animals in the zoo’s care get to do the same.
