5 Bars in Denver Open on Christmas Day

The gifts have been opened, thanks have been given and now a mess of paper and boxes need to be picked up. Don’t feel like mixing and serving drinks after all that, do you? We at DrinkDenver have a solution, let Denver’s finest bars and restaurants take care of you, so you can enjoy the day with friends and family. Here is a list of places open on Christmas Day ready to serve up delicious drinks and food.

Kachina: Up north in Westminster, Kachina is offering a 4-course family-style Pioneer Christmas Dinner featuring Red Turkey Tamales, Bison Empanadas with chipotle honey agave. Christmas dinner is $40 per adult/$15 per child. Christmas dinner is from 11:30 AM and 9 PM (303-410-5813).

Parallel 17:  Mary Nguyen’s delicious Vietnamese dishes will make for a unique holiday treat. The restaurant will be open both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for brunch from 11 AM to 9 PM. The restaurant has a Christmas menu that includes dishes such as Saigon cinnamon beignets, asparagus flan, saffron braised beef cheeks and “Figgy Pudding.” Enjoy any meal with some of P17’s signature cocktails, like the Bishop made with orange clove, cinnamon and star anise house-infused port, served up warm with a Saigon cinnamon stick. (1600 E. 17th Ave.; 303-399-0988).

The Corner Office:  Located on the corner of 14th and Curtis, The Corner Office will have a full menu available both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Take your holiday crew and try one of the bar’s holiday punch bowls to get in the festive spirit. Punch bowls are $45 and serve 10-12 glasses per bowl. (1401 Curtis St.; 303-825-6500).

Second Home: Located in Cherry Creek North, Second Home wants guests to treat them like a second home so the restaurant and bar is having a “Pajama Brunch” including bottomless Mimosas, a Bloody Mary bar and a spiked hot chocolate bar. The Christmas dinner menu includes items from the regular menu along with traditional pan-seared duck breast and shrimp and grits. The Pajama Brunch is 7 AM to 2 PM and dinner is 4 to 7 PM. (150 Clayton Ln.; 303-410-5000).

World of Beer-Belmar:  WOB in Lakewood will be OPEN Christmas Day starting at 7 PM. Not only will the bar have 25 taps of half-priced drafts, WOB will show the holiday classic, “A Christmas Story,” starting at 8 PM. Cheers (7260 W. Alaska Dr., Unit A; 303-934-2304).
