Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday, filled with friends, family and good food. But at the end of the day after stuffing yourself with, well stuffing and being cooped up indoors, don’t you wanna get away for a little while? DrinkDenver to the rescue! Whether you don’t feel like cooking or you just need a few minutes to recharge, here are some places that will be open Thanksgiving Day.
FATE Brewing: While you can’t get a beer at FATE on Thanksgiving, you can get a turkey. The chef at FATE is coming in early Thursday morning to smoke turkeys. Get one for $5.75 per pound. Call 303-449-FATE or email

(1600 38th St., Ste., Boulder; 100; 303-449-3283).

(10600 Westminster Blvd.; 303-410-5813).
Highland Tap and Burger: This neighborhood bar and grill in the Highlands began opening on Thanksgiving because the staff often couldn’t go home and wanted a place to hang out, eat and drink together. Now open up to the public, the neighborhood turns out every year to thank them. Starting at 5 PM, go for a cocktail, a burger and some Thanksgiving football on the bar’s many TVs
(2219 W. 32nd Ave.; 720-287-4493).
Prost Brewing: Not only is Prost open on Thanksgiving, the brewery will have a food truck in case you don’t get enough to eat. Brava Pizza will provide the eats at Denver’s favorite German bierhaus. Prost will be open from 5 to 10 PM
(2540 19th St.; 303-729-1175).
World of Beer-Belmar: If you need an excuse to visit World of Beer, this Lakewood location is right next to the Belmar ice skating rink, which will be open. Tell your family you feel like skating and then head over to WOB for live music with Dave Connelly starting at 9 PM
