Get Down at the Sixth Annual Whiskey Throwdown and Doughnut Showdown

Get ready Denver. The sixth annual Whiskey Throwdown and Doughnut Showdown is coming at you on Saturday, May 19. An event that started out as a joke had 300 people walk in the door the first year and has now become one of Denver’s signature food and drink events. Specifically held on National Whiskey Day, patrons will find some of Denver’s best craft spirits next to doughnuts created by the city’s best confection makers.

Besides doughy whiskey goodness, there will also be live painting by local artists, a DJ and fabulous door prizes including doughnuts for life. Can you handle all that Denver?

Focusing on local, handcrafted spirits, the whiskeys will come from all over Colorado including:  3 Hundred Days, 10th Mountain, Anvil, Art of the Spirits, Bear Creek, Black Bear, Branch & Barrel, Broken Arrow, Colorado Golf, Deerhammer, Distillery 291, Feisty Spirits, Marble, Mile High, Mystic Mountain, Peach Street, Rocker, Spirit Hound, State 38, The Family Jones, Weavers and Wood’s High Mountain.

Makers of cakey flakey goodness include Glazed & Confused, City Donuts, The Dapper Doughnut, Rustic Donut and Habit/Carbon.

This event will be held at Denver Rock Drill in RiNo with two sessions. The afternoon session is from 2:30 to 5 PM and the evening session is from 6 to 8:30 PM. Tickets are $39 per person for general admission entry and include sampling to your heart’s content. VIP tickets are $65 per person and feature a 30-minute early entry to get first dibs on the good stuff and a take home engraved rocks glass. There are also “Doughnut Only” passes that do not include alcohol for $30 per person. Must be 21 and over for entry. Tickets can be purchased here
