Where to Cure a NYE Hangover in Denver

Brunch it away

New Year’s Eve is a chance to celebrate the year gone by and look forward to the year ahead. However, we tend over celebrate on this big party holiday. If that happens to you this year, here are some places that will have something to help what ‘ales’ you on New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1. Cures include big food buffets, tasty tidbits, soothing music and of course, more booze. Bottoms up!

Brunch, Booze and Beats, ViewHouse Ballpark
Beginning at 10 AM start your New Year’s Day with a bottomless Mimosa tower inside the courtyard’s heated tent. There will also be live music from Ninety Percent 90s until 2 PM. Lawn games available all day long. Reservations taken for groups of four or more only. (2015 Market St.; 720-477-4368)

Max’s Wine Dive
Over in central Denver Max’s will get you ready with a Butcher’s Omelet and a Max’s Bloody Mary. Slurp up this three-egg omelet made with filet steak topped with lots of cheese and home fries. The Bloody Mary is made with house spiced tomato juice and jalapeno seasoning. (696 Sherman St.; 303-593-2554)

New Year’s Brunch Buffet, ViewHouse Centennial
This brunch is available on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 10 AM to 2 PM. Enjoy live music and giant customizable Bloody Mary Bar.  Reservations strongly encouraged. (7101 S. Clinton St.; 303-816-3160)

NYE Tamales, Factotum Brewhouse
One of Denver’s newest drinking traditions, indulge your hangover with a Factotum beer and tasty tamales from La Casita on New Year’s Day. The brewery will also have a special Champagne beer release. The Brewery opens at noon and will show football bowl games all day and staff will hand out $1 beer a month cards while supplies last. (3845 Lipan St.; 720-441-4735)

Olive & Finch Resolution Special
Get the New Year started off right with the Resolution Special on any healthy house-pressed juice at both locations of Olive & Finch. Get half off any juice of any size January 1-31 when you show a gym membership card. Juices include the Rise & Shine or Just Beet It. All juices help to boost energy and aid in weight loss. Or you can just skip the juice and hit the afternoon cocktail menu. It’s your resolution. (Cherry Creek, 3390 E. 1st Ave.; 303-955-0455: Uptown, 1552 E. 17th Ave.; 303-832-8663)

Pajama Brunch at Govnr’s Park
Roll out of bed on New Year’s Day for the Pajama Brunch at Govnr’s Park featuring 2-for-1 Happy Hour all day. Brunching starts at 10 AM and the guest with the best jammies wins a Happy Hour Party for 10. (672 Logan St.: 303-831-8605)

Punch Bowl Social Hungover and Hungry NYD
Starting at 11 AM both PBS locations will serve up some gooey, greasy breakfast favorites New Year’s Day. The special is Black-Eyed Pea Hummus because it’s good luck to eat black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day. Who knew? PBS is also serving a house-made detoxifying juice called The Ginger Rogers to give your New Year a boost. You can also get what PBS is famous for, punch bowls cocktails. (Downtown, 65 Broadway; 303-765-2695: Stapleton, 3120 N. Uinta St.; 720-500-3788)

Resolute New Year's
The appropriately-named Centennial microbrewery Resolute Brewing will open from 2 to 9 PM on New Year's Day with a "Hair of the Dog" special:  Buy one, get one on all pours (flights excluded). The brewery will also have raffle prizes and if you bring your best four-legged friend, he earns a raffle ticket too. Revenge of the Pork BBQ truck will be on site and you'll get a free pint card for future use when ordering food. Last, but not least, Resolute will be tapping its very last batch of the 9.61% ABV Belgian Golden Strong Ale - that's about 65 pours - and then it's gone, just like 2017. (7285 S. Yosemite St., Ste. 110; 720-722-1238)
