Where to Drink Gingerbread Beers in Denver
Nothing says Christmastime like the taste of gingerbread cookies. To prove that point, Denver breweries are introducing their holiday Gingerbread Beers. That’s right, delicious beers with the flavors of cinnamon, ginger, clove and many other warm seasonal spices with just a touch of sweetness. Where do we find these festive beers? See the list below.
Bruz Beers
In North Denver, Bruz has released a Gingerbread Dubbel ready to please the beer crowds. Available in the tap room only. (1675 W. 67th Ave., Ste. 110; 303-650-2337)
CAUTION: Brewing
The crazies at Caution took actual gingerbread cookies and threw them into the brewing process to create the Gingerbread Stout. It is draft-only at the brewery and tap room in Lakewood. (1057 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Ste 60; 970-315-2739)
Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project
This brewery in the Santa Fe Arts District is releasing Gingerbread Helles Bock in December for your tastebuds to enjoy. The beer is a collaboration between the brewery and Spice Trade Brewing, Inland Island Yeast Laboratories, Root Shoot Malting, Savory Spice Shop and The Modern Eater. Sip it in the tap room only while it lasts. (925 W. 8th Ave.; 720-572-5172)
Lone Tree Brewing
English Old Ale is Lone Tree’s winter seasonal and is brewed with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice. The brewery says it is like drinking a snickerdoodle cookie that finishes dry. The beer is available at the brewery and in large format bottles if you want to try one at home. (8200 Park Meadows Dr., Ste 8222; 303-792-5822)
Strange Craft Beer Co.
Strange is serving Gingerbread Man for the holidays. The brewery says tasters can think of this beer as a big American Brown with Grandma’s gingerbread cookie recipe thrown in. Gingerbread Man is made with cinnamon, ginger, cloves and allspice and is only available on draft at the brewery. (1330 Zuni St., Unit M; 720-985-2337)
