there... Brings a Taste of Telluride to Denver
there… opened in Telluride seven years ago as an intimate restaurant and cocktail bar and in 2016 the proprietors brought that popular concept to Denver. Located in the Lumina Building in LoHi, this small, sophisticated spot is a place to meet friends, hangout after work or have a romantic dinner, all in one place. In other words, anyone can “go there… “
The space has a long bar with high top tables across from it. The kitchen is open to the main room with a chef’s counter. While windows surround the tables, the bartenders keep the inside dim and cozy. All groups receive a crunchy, savory bag of popcorn upon being seated to get the evening started.
The Apricot Crisp is a pink cocktail made with apricot jam, lychee juice, Campari and topped with Prosseco for a crisp taste just like its name. The scent is fruity and a little boozy and the taste leans toward the sour of the lychee with a tingly prosecco fizz.
The Apricot Crisp and the bar’s other signature cocktails come on a menu of worn book pages under the title “Shaken." On the bottom of the menu is a list called Jam Drinks. Jam Drinks are customizable cocktails where the imbiber selects a base spirit (Vodka, Gin, Rum, Tequila or Rye) and a jam from the list. The bar adds a sour mix and simple syrup to the base and the drinker adds as much or as little of the jam as they desire or just add as they sip
Because the original bar was in Telluride, Telluride Brewing Company is featured on all six taps. Greensky Blue Ribbon is a crisp lager that goes down easy with the bar bites. Another homage to this Colorado mountain town is the bar’s backdrop with bright stage lights, red theater curtains and props and costume pieces on the shelves. The bar’s look was modeled after the stage at Telluride’s Sheridan Opera House.
The food menu, with Asian leaning flavors, has $5 bites, $9 skewers and $8, $10 and $12 sides. The menu is designed to be shared with different people ordering different combinations to create a unique dining experience. The $5 bites are group into Steamed Buns, Tostadas and Lettuce Wraps each coming with a variety of fillings and tastes. The King Crab Ceviche Lettuce Wrap and Smokey Chicken Steamed Bun are bar favoritesand there are vegan and gluten-free options available.
The kitchen also serves bowls and sharable platters, but the menu changes frequently. Ask your server what’s available.
Happy Hour at there… begins when the bar opens at 4:30 PM daily and runs until 6:30 PM. The first “Shaken” cocktail is only $5, Telluride Brewing drafts are $3 and a can of Utica Club is $2. The small bites are $3 each. There is also a late night happy hour from 10 PM to 1 AM with $1 off everything on the menu. there… is located at 3254 Navajo St.
