Celebrate the Harvest at the 2017 Denver Food and Wine Festival
Celebrate Colorado's harvest bounty at the 2017 Denver Food and Wine Festival from September 5-10. All sorts of elevated eating and drinking will happen in the span of a few days.
The Denver Food and Wine Festival is a multi-day extravaganza of all things food, wine and spirits celebrated around downtown Denver. Events feature the best from Colorado’s restaurants paired with the finest wine and spirits in a culinary cowabunga.
The week begins with Culinary Cinema Series on Tuesday, September 5, with a screening of the film “Barbecue” complete with wine, cocktails, and BBQ from local chefs. This event will be held at the SIE Film Center on Colfax Avenue. Tickets are $40 per person.
On Wednesday, September 6, enjoy Dinner Under the Stars at the Coohills Outdoor Pedestrian Bridge at Speer and Wewatta. This six-course meal will be in full view of the Denver skyline. Denver celebrity chefs include Elise Wiggins (Cattivella), Frank Bonanno (Bonanno Concepts), Daniel Asher (River & Woods) Tom Coohill (Coohills), Lon Symensma, (ChoLon Asian Bistro), and Lisa Bailey, (D Bar Desserts). Tickets are $195 per person.
Thursday, September 7, features The Shake Down, a Denver celebrity bartending contest. Members of the Colorado Bartenders Guild will compete for Denver’s Best Cocktail and local celebrity chefs will compete for Best Bite. This event is at the McNichols Civic Center Building near Civic Center Park and tickets are $55 per person.
Get schooled with an education seminar on the importance of glassware on Friday, September 8, at Metro State Hospitality Learning Center at Walnut and 12th. The Riedel Wine Glass Company will host the Wine and Glass Experience. Learn first-hand the effect that the shape of a wine glass has on each unique varietal with Riedel ambassador Doug Reed. After the seminar, take home your own four-glass Riedel kit valued at $120. Tickets are $75 per person.
Denver Food and Wine Festival will culminate with The Grand Tasting on Saturday afternoon, September 9, at Pepsi Center. The Grand Tasting will feature tents showcasing the region’s best flavors with food, wine and spirit professionals. This all-you-can-eat and drink festival allows guests to explore creations from over 40 top restaurants and sip over 700 wines, spirits and craft beer. There will also be a 5280 VIP Lounge with select wines by Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits Master Sommeliers paired with bites from 12 upscale restaurants. It will also feature dishes by Gale Gand and a silent auction. General Admission tickets are $125 per person, First Tasting tickets that allow early entry are $165 and VIP tickets are $250. The Connoisseur VIP Festival Pass is $630 per person and includes tickets to all the other events during the festival.
Wait! The fun and food are not over yet. On September 10, get over your food and wine hangover at the Rise and Dine Brunch at Stanley Marketplace. Not only will guests enjoy a delicious breakfast washed down with Mimosas, but the event will strive to create the world’s largest Bloody Mary Bar. That is worth getting up at 10 AM for. Tickets are $55 per person.
