Things No One Asked For: Prosecco Glitter

by Ryan Hudak on May 2, 2017 in Culture

If your summertime gatherings have lost their sparkle, I’ve got great news for you: there is now a thing called Prosecco Glitter, and no, it’s not the latest Lana Del Rey single. UK company Lakeland has created PopABall rose gold glitter, an edible glitter you can add to your prosecco to give it that extra shimmer it’s so sorely been missing—and an added raspberry flavor as well!

If you haven’t quite reached the stage of adulthood where you can stand the unadulterated look and taste of a normal glass of alcohol, this is the perfect party pick-me-up for you and all of your sorority sisters.  Because not only does it give prosecco that added flair you’ve been missing, but you can also add it to cocktails.  That raspberry shimmer is going to go great with the Cosmo you ordered because it was on Sex & the City.

If your party already has plenty of shimmer and you’re not sure this will take things to the next level—just wait, there’s more!  PopABall also includes tiny gold leaf hearts that will float to the top of your drink.  How adorbs is that? Unfortunately, though, the product is only available in the UK for now, so your parties are still going to have to suck for a while.  Unless, that is, you buy directly from Lakeland’s website and don’t mind forking over $20 for shipping so you can shimmer up your champy.   But something tells me shelling out that much to make your alcohol iridescent is probably one of the least offensive things you’ve put on your parents’ credit card.
