Denver Zoo Offers Free DO Tickets in Drink Naming Contest

26th Annual Do at the Zoo

Once again, the Denver Zoo is holding a Facebook contest to name the signature cocktail of this year’s Do at the Zoo fundraiser. The winner will receive two free tickets to this premier event that takes place on Thursday, June 16.

To enter, participants must "like" the Zoo’s Facebook page and submit one name in the comment sections of the page’s contest post. Names can be based on the cocktail's ingredients, what the drink looks like, or even a favorite animal. The contest began Monday, June 6 and runs until Sunday, June 12. Zoo staff will read over all submissions and choose a winner on Monday, June 13.

The cocktail’s ingredients were provided by Republic National Distributing Company and the recipe is by Secret Sauce F&B, the company that operates Vesta, Steuben’s and Ace, the event’s VIP Party caterer.

1.5 oz. Hornitos Blanco Tequila
0.5 oz. St. George Raspberry Liqueur
0.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
4 oz. Seagrams Ginger Ale
Build over ice and garnish with a lie wedge

Do at the Zoo begins at 7 PM on June 16. Guests can join the zoo’s wild party animals at this large gala event, featuring over 60 of Denver’s top restaurants serving their best foods and beverages. The event features live music, up-close animal encounters, and the incredible setting of seeing the Zoo at twilight. Tickets are $175 per person and can be purchased through the Zoo’s website. In the 26-year history of Do at the Zoo, the event has raised over $11.5 million to improve the Zoo’s facilities and programs.
