Hop-Con 4.0 Is Like Comic-Con For Stone Brewing: Beer By Wil Wheaton, Aisha Tyler, & More
Move over, San Diego Comic Con — it’s time for the reign of a new geek festival. Stone Brewing’s Hop-Con, entering its fourth year this July, celebrates the nerdy side of beer making with games, celebrity guests, and of course, plenty of beer.
Hop-Con 4.0 is the convergence of brewing culture and nerd culture. This day long festival hosted by Stone Brewing features all the fun of a beer fest with the addition of guest celebrity brewers. Notably, Wil Wheaton, Star Trek alum and all-around nerd icon, has teamed up with fark.com founder Drew Curtis and Stone Brewing for the fourth time to create the Stone Farking Wheaton w00tstout 2016.
Other celebrities are hosting and bringing their own collaboration brews, including Aisha Tyler (Archer), Jonah Ray (The Nerdist and upcoming host of Mystery Science Theater 3000), and Alison Haislip and Alex Albrech (hosts of the Half Hour Happy Hour Podcast), among others.
It wouldn’t be a good nerd -con without entertainment, so in addition to the many beers (including every vintage of the Stone Farking Wheaton w00stout) and hosts, Hop-Con this year is providing the Hop-Cade. This section of the event has IPAs on tap, vintage arcade games, pinball machines, lawn games (including a two lane bocce ball court), and more.
Tickets for the event are $75, and appropriately go on sale on May the Fourth (be with you). You can find them at Brown Paper Tickets.
