TAG Restaurant to Host Pax Mahle's Wine Gap Wines

Wine's Most Interesting Man

At TAG Restaurant, Chef Troy Guard wants everyone to enjoy food like a chef and drink like a sommelier. To that end, the restaurant will begin hosting monthly wine pairing dinners featuring different wines from around the world. For April meet the rebellious wines of Pax Mahle’s Wine Gap Wines.

Pax Mahle is a bit of a rebel in the wine world. He is a self-taught wine aficionado who began his career as a sommelier. He then decided he would rather make wine than sell wine, so he founded his own labels, starting with PAX and followed by Wine Gap. Wine Gap focuses on cool climate, aromatic wines.

“Wind Gap is about classically styled wines that represent the new California. They are meant to be fresh, fun and full of character – and so they have gained some cult status along the way,” says Mahle.  Much like Pax himself.

Spend an evening with Wine Gap at TAG Restaurant in Larimer Square on Thursday, April 28. Enjoy a four-course meal with spring peas, Morel mushrooms, seared pork belly, and duck tortellini paried with a variety of Wine Gap Wines. A reception starts at 6:30 PM, and dinner will follow shortly after. Cost is $95 per person plus tax and gratuity, and reservations can be made by calling TAG at 303-996-9985.
