Grab a New Brew With a View at the Brown Palace Hotel
The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa downtown, one of the state's most historic hotels, is wrapping up a major $10 million renovation and to celebrate all the hard work on this historic Denver locale, the hotel has teamed up with Hall Brewing in Parker to create a unique brew just for the hotel, one that is as unique as the Grand Dame herself.
The Brown Palace Pale Ale is a deceptively simple beer with a handsome pale gold color. Aubrey Hall, Owner of Hall Brewing, spent the last two months working on this special beer. While Hall created the beer, the Brown Palace supplied the most essential ingredient, artisanal water from the hotel’s own aquafer over 700 feet beneath the building. Other Colorado ingredients are lemongrass from Boulder and organic hops from Paonia on the Western Slope.
While the scent is lemongrass, there is only a hint of this greenery in the taste. What comes through are the crisp hops making for a thirst-quenching summer afternoon beer. At 6% ABV, more than one can be enjoyed too. The Brown Palace Pale Ale will be a fine addition to the hotel’s already eclectic tap list, which includes Bristol, Wynkoop, Tivoli, and Odell from Colorado along with Anchor Steam, Sam Adams, and Sierra Nevada from across the country and an impressive selection of Trappist beers.
The beer is currently available in the Churchill Bar at the hotel and at Hall Brewing’s Taproom in Parker.
