Sample Colorado's Best Wines at the Governor's Cup Wine Tasting, Aug. 1
The Colorado Wine Industry Development Board and the History Colorado Center will team up to celebrate local Colorado wine at the Governor’s Cup Tasting Event on Saturday, August 1.
After sifting through 235 submissions from over 30 Colorado wineries, a panel of sommeliers, chefs, writers, and wine experts from around the country selected 12 wines as best of the best at this year’s Governor’s Cup Case in May. Enjoy these special wines by pairing them with small bites made with locally-sourced ingredients from six of Colorado's top chefs.
The event will feature Canyon Wind Cellars/Anemoi 2013 Lips Syrah and Turquoise Mesa Winery 2013 Syrah, which tied for Best in Show at the Cup Case. Other Colorado wineries include Bonacquisti, Bookcliff, Boulder Creek, Creekside Cellars, Guy Drew Vineyards, and Whitewater Hill. Guests will also be able to enjoy some of Colorado's top cidars, meads, and fruit wines.
The event will be held at History Colorado Center, a museum and civic engagement center that focuses on Colorado’s unique history. The event also happens to take place on Colorado Day, August 1.Tickets are $75, but HCC members can attend for only $60. Both member and non-member tickets can be purchased at the HCC website. The tasting begins at 7:30 PM.
