Eat Your Heart Out at BigEat 2015, July 23

Denver, once seen as a dusty outpost on the national culinary scene, has made a steady climb upward in terms of food-centric cities. While the Mile High City may never be San Francisco, New Orleans, or New York in terms of a food reputation, a bevy of chefs and restaurants have helped make Denver one of the better cities in the nation for gustatory delights.

One of the best ways to get acquainted with the city’s best is BigEat.

BigEat caters to folks who dig independent restaurants. This year’s participants include some of the city’s very best, including Beatrice & Woodsley, Euclid Hall Bar and Kitchen, Jax Fish House, Panzano, Steuben’s, TAG, and Trillium. There are many, many others, too.

In terms of drink, the Vine Street Pub—the Denver branch of Boulder’s Mountain Sun brewpubs—will be represented as well as a craft beer hangout, Lucky Pie Pizza and Taphouse.

If that’s not enough, the Colorado Bartenders Guild, Laws Whiskey House, Peach Street Distillery, Woody Creek, Golden Moon, Crazy Mountain Brewery, Oskar Blues Brewery, Great Divide Brewing Company, and Trinchero Family Estate Wines will be on hand to represent Colorado’s beverage makers.

“The Big Eat is beyond just throwing a great party. We want to create a memorable event and provide a true taste of Denver,” said Adam Schlegel, executive director of EatDenver. “There is so much artistry to being a restauranteur. We want to help showcase their passion alongside their peers and partners.”

Some of the tasty delectables on the BigEat menu include: Sriracha cream cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped shrimp from The Berkshire, Ceviche from Adelitas Concina Y Catina, Penne with prosciutto vodka sauce from DiFranco’s, and Gochujang duck wings from Vesta Dipping Grill.

Tickets are available online for $55. Ticket price includes unlimited small bites, beer, wine, and signature cocktails.
