Let the Breeze Carry You to Zephyr Brewing Company in RiNo
Back in December—amid all the holiday revelers drowning in a deluge of tinsel and fruitcake—Zephyr Brewing Company poured its first pint, adding its concoctions of malt, yeast, water and hops to the River North neighborhood’s ballooning reputation as the best area for craft beer in the Mile High City.Tucked away in a somewhat hole-in-the-wall location along 26th Street, Zephyr is deceptively convenient for people participating in a variety of Denver activities, which could include but are not limited to:
-
Taking in the art scene in RiNo
-
Gazing at all the hipster beards currently residing in Denver
-
Attending a Colorado Rockies game
-
Consoling yourself after realizing the Rockies have begun their annual losing streak that takes them out of play-off contention halfway through the season
-
Drinking beer on a Sunday
While the roster of beers provides plenty of interesting selections, the most intriguing menu item may be the beer fudge popsicle—made with Zephyr’s Chocolate Raspberry Stout (5.3% ABV). It wasn’t hot enough to try, but the beer on which it was based was tasty enough.
The rest of the beer menu included an IPA at 6.5% ABV, 26th Street Wit at 4%, Ryerish Whiskey Ale at 5%, Colorado Pale Ale at 5.8% and Cherry Lambic at 4.5% ABV.
If you need some gnosh, there are pretzels, chips and hot dogs—yes, hot dogs—for sale. Pints run $5–6, and growler fills are $8 with a new, filled vessel costing you $20. Stop by to get your fill on Monday through Thursday, 3–10 PM, Friday and Saturday, 12 PM–12 AM and Sunday, 12–9 PM.
