Neil Patrick Harris Is New Spokesperson for Heineken Light in Money Back Guarantee Campaign

Heineken Light just made a new, impressive-sounding promise: If you don’t think its beer is the best-tasting light beer on the market, the company will give you your money back.

To deliver the news, enter Neil Patrick Harris. He (or his character) is not-so-slightly annoyed at being the Heineken Light spokesperson and is not quite sure how customers actually get their refund.

Since he can't tell you, here’s how: Visit http://www.heinekenlightmoneyback.com for details on eligibility—only 6-packs are valid—limitations and how to redeem. In states where alcohol-related refunds are not lawful, Heineken will make a charitable donation in the same amount.

"At Heineken, we believe that you don't need to sacrifice taste when drinking a light beer," said Ralph Rijks, Vice President of Heineken USA, in a statement. "We're so confident in Heineken Light's award-winning flavor that we're putting our money where our mouth is."

Heineken, the world's third largest brewer, recently revamped its light beer. The brewery tweaked the flavor profile by adding Cascade hops, one of the most popular craft beer moves. The new formula won the title of "Best Tasting Low-Calorie Lager" for the last two years in a row at The World Beer Championships.

Last summer, ad agency Wieden & Kennedy debuted its first spots for Heineken Light, starring Neil Patrick Harris after Heineken signed the actor-singer-comedian-magician to an 18-month endorsement deal.

Now he’s back, struggling under some arcane rules that don’t allow him to partake in the refund, or bemoaning the fact that people know him from this Heineken Light commercials and not his more high-brow work.

Sorry, NPH, it’s hard to pity you too much. As for the beer, it seems worth it to find out.
