This week: How to Make a Gimlet
This classic drink was most likely invented by the British navy in a time when limes were plentiful on board. Back in those days, limes and other citrus were kept on hand because they prevented scurvy. The gimlet is just three simple ingredients, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and gin. It is a perfect template for exploring muddled fruits and herbs in your cocktails, but it can stand up perfectly on its own.
Ingredients:
Fresh lime juice
Simple syrup
London Dry Gin
Step 1 of 5:
Add 3/4 oz lime juice
Step 2 of 5:
Add 3/4 oz simple syrup
Step 3 of 5:
Add 2 oz London Dry Gin
Step 4 of 5:
Fill large shaker 3/4 with ice. Shake hard for 8-10 seconds.
Step 5 of 5:
Strain into a coupe glass.
Enjoy!
