Where to Celebrate Earth Day With Local and Organic Drinks in Denver
We here in Denver love our great outdoors. We have beautiful mountains to play in and when we’re done, we have delicious cocktails and beers to drink. So when Earth Day rolls around we give thanks to Mother Earth by sipping an earthy and organic concoction. We should really be celebrating the Earth all year long, but in case we forget to do so, Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22. Here are some bars and restaurants where you can raise a toast to the Earth with 'green' drinks.
Over in the Republic of Boulder, the St. Julien Hotel & Spa is offering a Green Martini for only $9, not just on Earth Day, but all week long. The cocktail features Hendrix Gin, Yeoman Tonic, cucumber syrup, fresh squeezed lime and cucumber garnish. (900 Walnut St., Boulder; 720-406-9696)
Also in Boulder, Blackbelly Market is serving The Iowan Smash featuring Templeton Rye, fresh-squeezed lemon and blackberries, a refreshing way to spend Earth Day. (1606 Conestoga #3, Boulder; 303-247-1000)
Argyll Whisky Beer is offering the Oh Be Joyful Cocktail, a concoction of locally-sourced ingredients such as Leopold ASB Gin, a squeeze of fresh lime juice and simple syrup. The drink is served with a sunny yellow pepper, jalapeno and beet for a perfect garden cocktail on Argyll’s patio. (1035 E 17th Ave.; 303-847-0850)
In Cherry Creek North, The Cherry Cricket is offering the Organic Grasshopper for Earth Day. It’s made with organic American Harvest Vodka, white cream de cocoa, hazelnut liquor, Rumpleminze, green cream de menthe, half and half and a mint leaf. The earth never tasted so good.
