The beer is out of the barrel! Breckenridge Brewery’s latest barleywine is ready for tasting, and you can enjoy some on Friday, February 27, at the brewery.

This is Breck’s second barleywine, but it will be much different from the first. Barleywine Batch #1 was a traditional English-style barleywine cold conditioned for several months and then aged in fresh American Oak barrels. Batch #2 has been aged in French Oak Cabernet Sauvignon barrels, which will give the subtle scent of prune, molasses and wet oak. The cabernet will come through in the taste. Both Batch #1 and Batch #2 are bottled in distinguished 22-oz wax-topped bottles.

To try both of these incredible barleywines for yourself, attend the Barleywine tasting from 6 to 8 PM at the Kalamath Brewery. There will also be live music and chocolate and cheese pairings. Be sure to arrive early because Breckenridge has already cellared some Batch #1 for a lucky few. Limited bottles of Batch #1 and plenty of bottles of Batch #2 will be available for sale so you can cellar your own.

ATTENTION BEER LOVERS: During this special tasting, there will be an opportunity for attendees to receive one Golden Ticket. Golden Tickets provide entry for two people on the first day tours are available at the new brewery in Littleton. Only 50 of these special tickets have been printed. One ticket will be given to one lucky tasting attendee.

The brewery is located at 471 Kalamath St., and the tasting is FREE. Bottles of Batch #1 and #2 will be on sale for only $16.99.
