Old Chicago Explorer Series to feature Boulevard and Odell Breweries
Starting last Wednesday, November 12, and running through November 26, area Old Chicago restaurants are helping Boulevard and Odell Breweries celebrate 25 years of making great beer with an Explorer Series.
Since both breweries are celebrating 25 years together, the breweries collaborated on a new beer, the Silver Anniversary Ale. This golden copper ale is full of caramel-toffee malt balanced with piney hop notes and an ABV of 7.3%.
Also part of the Explorer Series is Boulevard’s Harvest Dance Wheat Wine with a warm burst of tropical fruit flavors and subtle wine-like notes with an oaky finish (9.5% ABV). Odell’s contribution is the 180 Shilling Barleywine. This brew is a hearty roasted malt base balanced by subtle earthy hops and aged on oak to create notes of toffee, plum, vanilla and dried cherry (9.6% ABV).
Other beers available for the series are Boulevard’s Pale Ale, Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale and the Nutcracker Ale and Odell will serve up 90 Shilling, Gramps Oatmeal Stout and the Myrcenary Double IPA. Guests who try the brews can receive a commemorative collaboration glass for only $2.
Boulevard Brewing, located in Kansas City, Missouri, was founded on November 17 and Odell Brewing, located in Fort Collins, Colorado, was founded on November 18. Besides Colorado, other participating Old Chicago restaurants are in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and some Minnesota locations.
