Oktoberfest Denver Returns Sept. 19-21 and Sept. 26-28

Since 1969, Denver has hosted one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in the US. If you haven't been, this needs to be the year you find your inner Bavarian. Oktoberfest Denver is here!

This event is so big, over 350,000 visitors last year, it runs for six days over two weekends. The first is next weekend, September 19 through 21, and then the following weekend, September 26 through 28. The event takes place in the Ballpark Neighborhood on Larimer Street between 20th and 22nd Streets.

Along with all the proper food and beer vendors, there will be two stages with live music, both oopah and modern along with special events that most everyone can participate in. Sign up for Keg Bowling, the Stein Hoisting contest, the Bratwurst Eating Contest or enter your Dachshund in the Long Dog Derby and Costum Contest. Prizes will be awarded. Sam Adams is the festival's beer sponor and will be serving up Octoberfest, Boston Lager and Rebel IPA along with Angry Orchard Hard Cidar and Twisted Tea Original and Lemonade.

The party is free to enter, but food, beer and other drinks must be purchased using tickets. One ticket is $6 or get four for $20. Tickets are then exchanged for food and beverage. Guests can also purchase event Steins for $25. Steins can be pre-ordered online to avoid the lines at the festival. For those who don't want to bother with tickets, purchase the festival VIP all-you-can-eat-and-drink package. The VIP package includes all food and beer in a special VIP area of the festival, a beer Stein, a festival t-shirt and an authentic German hat. VIP tickets for Friday are $75, tickets for Saturday are $100 and tickets for Sunday are $65. Weekend passes are $175.

The events runs Friday, September 19 and 26, from 5 PM to 2 AM, Saturday, September 20 and 27, from 11 AM to 2 AM and Sunday, September 21 and 28, from 11 AM to 5 PM.
