The 11th annual Steamboat Wine Festival

Get away for the weekend to the mountain slopes of Steamboat Springs for the 11th annual Steamboat Wine Festival. This event will feature more than 100 food artisans, wineries, breweries, distilleries and other epicurean delights, much of it locally produced.

Enjoy seminars, tastings and even some outdoor adventures. The event takes place from Wednesday, August 6, to Sunday, August 10. Featured events include Wine & 9, Wine on the Mountain, Stroll of Steamboat, and culminating in the fantastic Toast of Steamboat. One featured event, the August 6 Farm to Barn Wine Dinner is already SOLD OUT.

Wine on the Mountain is Thursday, August 7, at the top of Mt. Werner. Enjoy Wine, beer and spirits with heavy appetizers while taking in the views from the top of the Gondola. Tickets are $135 per person and the event is from 5–7:30 PM. Attire is dressy casual.

Stroll of Steamboat is a just that. A lovely walk down mainstreet Steamboat Springs with tasty treats to bite and sip along the way. Each stop brings a different assortment of food and drink and the shops will be open as well. The stroll starts at 4 PM on Friday, August 8, and cost is $90 per person, which includes tasting glass and notes.

Toast of Steamboat is the big event of the weekend. Held at Gondola Square on the mountain, enjoy a large selection of domestic and international wines, premium beer and spirits and gourmet food while listening to live music. There will be over 500 different wines to sample and over 20 local restaurants will be represented. The event runs from 3 to 6 PM and cost is $95 per person and includes tasting glass and notes. VIP tickets are $150 and provides access to the best wines one hour early. Only 100 VIP tickets are available. Guests may pick up the glasses starting at noon.

What makes the Steamboat Wine Festival so unique are the number of outdoor and active events that wine lovers can enjoy. Take on one of Colorado's most beautiful golf courses, the Haymaker, with events for both men and women. Sign up for one of several Hike and Hops events on the trails around town. Trail walks range from easy one-milers to a more strenuous three and four miles, but each hike includes a lunch with a beer or wine pairing. Get on two-wheels with the Spoke Too Soon or Zinful Single Track bike rides or find your inner peace at Vino & Vinyasa. New this year is a SUP & Suds event on the Yampa River.

More leisurely pursuits include beer or wine pairing dinners, the Corks & Canvas wine and painting class, a mixology class, and several wine tasting classes. Check the website for full schedule and event pricing. Tickets to all events can be purchased through the SWF website.
