Support Your Local Sports Teams with Specialty Cocktails at Pepsi Center
There is a new team in town when it comes to drinks at the Pepsi Center. The Land Rover Denver Club is open for club level ticket holders and is serving up some yummy adult beverages during sporting and other events. General Manager Maxx Phillips, Bar Manager Toni Shofner and their staff have come up with some enticing liquid libations for sports fans to enjoy. Let’s take a tour of club level and see what’s cooking at The Can.
Nuggets Blue Lemonade:
This cocktail uses blueberry-lemon Finlandia vodka, house-made lemonade, DeKuyper Blue Pucker and a blue-dyed lemon garnish to match the team’s blue and yellow colors. The drink is tart and tangy with a refreshing slam-dunk finish. Show your Nuggets pride with a blue tongue.
Mammoth Margarita:
This cocktail uses Herradura tequila, house-made lime juice, agave nectar and a splash of Cointreau. This deceptively smooth margarita barely gives a hint of the tequila while the lime juice and Cointreau blend together for a sweet/sour taste. The Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League begin play at Pepsi Center December 28.
Avalanche Cocktail:
The club’s most popular cocktail, the Avalanche, uses Finlandia vodka, mixed with apple, cranberry and pineapple juice for a sweet treat with a tropical flavor and it’s surprisingly peachy even though there is no peach used. With its sweet taste, this drink is like the Avs, it sneaks up on you like a slap shot.
The bars at Pepsi Center are proud to serve Colorado’s finest craft ales such as Fat Tire, Dry Dock and Tivoli. These beers do rotate monthly. The Land Rover Denver Club bar also serves Colorado craft spirits such as 303 Vodka, Leopold Bros. Gin and Downslope Rum in their hand-crafted cocktails. Even the juices and infusions are made in house or Colorado made, such as Rocky Mountain Soda Company’s Golden Ginger Beer used in the Mile Hi Mule. Just a quick note, at club level's On the Rocks bar the featured January cocktail is the Grilled Cheese Bloody Mary. It's a house-made Bloody Mary bar with up to 20 fixings of your choice and topped with grilled cheese on a skewer for dunking. Genius!
The Land Rover Denver Club opens one and half hours before games for Club Level ticket holders. For those who linger before taking their seats, the bar has 20 HD TVs so you won’t miss a single shot. However, something few people realize is that 10 minutes before the end of any game, the public is welcome to Club Level and can enjoy a beverage for up to an hour after the game ends. Post-game radio shows are also broadcast from the Land Rover Denver Club. This is a great way to pass the time while waiting for the parking lot or light rail station to clear out after a packed game. Go team and cheers to the Avalanche, Mammoth and Nuggets!
