Here’s an unforeseen consequence of craft beer’s increasing popularity. The Colorado-based Brewer’s Association, a not-for-profit trade association that represents the majority of U.S. breweries, announced this week that it is completely maxed out at its current home in Boulder where it has resided since Jimmy Carter was still in the White House.

Due to the exponential growth the craft beer segment has experienced in recent years, BA’s rapidly ballooning staff and the services it extends to America's brewing community can no longer be contained within the four walls of its downtown Boulder location on Pearl Street. So come April, the organization will pack up and relocate about a half-mile east to Spruce Street, where it will maintain its commitment to Boulder’s business community and continue to work on behalf of this country's breweries.

With a footprint that extends 11,600 square feet, BA’s new digs are twice as large as the current headquarters. In a prepared statement, Chief Operating Officer Bob Pease says this move to a bigger facility will allow the organization and its staff better serve its members, whose numbers will obviously continue to keep climbing as craft beer keeps on booming.
