When the weather turns chilly people start looking for indoor activities. One of those activities is bowling. Whether in a league for the season or just a fun night out, here are a few places that mix bowling and drinking on a regular basis.
Brunswick Lanes: Not interested in bowling in one of those super competitive leagues that drag on until spring? Neither do we! Consider a short season league at one of the four Brunswick Lanes locations around town. Not only is the commitment just a few weeks, most feature “beer and pizza” leagues that include; yep, you guessed it; a pizza and a pitcher of beer every week. Check the Brunswick nearest you for league nights.
Lucky Strike: Prefer to bowl somewhere a little more… upscale? Consider Lucky Strike Lanes. Lucky Strike specializes in large groups with sophisticated menus, a full service bar and yes, bottle service, if you must. Lucky Strike is booking holiday parties now and has locations at the 16th Street Mall, and another on South Teller St.
Moe’s BBQ and Bowling: Love BBQ as much as bowling? Enjoy both at Moe’s BBQ and Bowling on South Broadway. Eight lanes of bowling and good southern food paired with a Colorado beer make for a fine evening. If that wasn't already cool enough, this place has a music stage in the restaurant that showcases some of the area’s best bands. Check the website for upcoming shows.
Monaco Lanes/AMF: Monaco Lanes on Denver’s east side is old school bowling at its best and the perfect place for the serious bowler. Although it looks like 70s throwback, the place has 40 remodeled lanes and a new scoring system with flat screen TVs to track all those spares and strikes. The Laneside Grill is the center’s full service bar featuring an assortment of cocktails, wine and draft and bottled beer. Join one of Monaco’s many leagues for bowlers of all levels.
Punch Bowl Social: This new kid on the block is more than just a bowling alley. Denver’s hottest social gaming spot features billiards, ping pong, marbles and shuffleboard in case bowling isn’t enough for you. And as the name suggests, the place serves punch bowls of alcoholic goodness. Try the Paper Tiger Punch, Sangria or the Mimosa Bowl. Punches are served in a bowl with ice and are available in servings of four or eight.
