Ultimate Denver Brewery Guide: Neighborhood by Neighborhood

If you're visiting Denver or are just looking to explore all the great local beer Denver has to offer, check out the neighborhood brewery guides we've put together, and get ready to start sipping.

Breweries in River North
Denver’s River North neighborhood is undergoing a metamorphosis. Once a predominantly industrial area, an influx of new or renovated clubs, bars, lofts and apartments have made River North one of the most eclectic and livable neighborhoods in Denver. Not surprisingly, all the people in this neighborhood have a thirst for craft beer.

Breweries in the Highlands
Every town has its trendy neighborhoods overflowing with urban hipsters and posh hot spots. Denver’s is called Highlands — and it’s also packed with good, small breweries. Check out three must-visit spots below, plus a killer bonus pub.

Breweries in Golden Triangle and Baker
Denver’s Golden Triangle and the Baker neighborhood have birthed some of the city’s most daring new craft breweries during the past few years. Both areas feature an eclectic mix of shopping, entertainment and recreational outlets — even industrial areas. But, there’s beer here.

Breweries Outside the 'Hoods, Part 1
Denver may have very little oxygen, but it sure has a lot of craft beer. In fact, with all the great beer, one wonders why Colorado consistently ranks as one of the fittest states in the nation. Here are a few more Denver beer makers worthy of a visit.

Breweries Outside the 'Hoods, Part 2
There are more breweries around Denver that aren’t, can’t or won’t be caged in by the city’s many neighborhoods. Check out these outliers, they’re worth a taste.

Breweries in Golden
Golden, CO, is where it all began. You may have heard of it — it's the home of Coors, the Banquet Beer and Coors Light, the Silver Bullet. Adolph Coors brewed his first barrel of beer in Golden in 1873. Now, 140 years later, there are serveral more breweries in Golden, each unique and out to conquer this rugged mountain town.

Breweries in Boulder
Many Denverites refer to Boulder, CO, as “The Republic of Boulder” because of its liberal policies. But it could also be called the Republic of Beer. Boulder is home to some of Colorado’s finest breweries, and for most people, it’s just a 30-minute ride to Beervana. Here are eight you don’t want to miss (along with two great taphouses we couldn’t resist throwing in).

Breweries in Aurora
Located just east of Denver, Aurora has become a star in the beer world. While other cities in Colorado garner outsize portions of limelight, Aurora slides by as a stealth beer mecca. The city’s ales and lagers can compete with any out there, and for most Denverites, getting to an Aurora brewery is a drive of only a few minutes. Here are four to check out.
