Party at Denver's Oldest Oktoberfest Celebration, September 27-29 and October 4-6

Get out your dirndls or lederhosen, Oktoberfest is coming. Denver's oldest Oktoberfest will go into its 44th year the weekends of September 27-29 and October 4-6 in the Ballpark neighborhood at 20th and Larimer Street.

Called "the best Oktoberfest in the U.S." by both Maxim and USA Today, expect over 350,000 people at the event, dining on bratwurst and sauerkraut while drinking liters and liters of beer. Enjoy or participate in authentic German events like a stein hoisting and om-pah bands, plus some not-so-traditional events like the Long Dog Derby and the DasHustlehoff 5K run — registration for the Saturday, September 28, run is $25 per person and includes a t-shirt; those over 21 years of age also recieve a free post-race beer.

Food and drink are purchased with special tickets, much like an amusement park. Tickets are $6 each or you can buy four for $20. Beers are one ticket, top shelf bar drinks are two tickets and liter steins with beer are four tickets, (just two tickets for refills). Food prices vary by vendor. VIP all-you-can-eat-and-drink packages are available and include a ceramic stein, German hat and official Oktoberfest t-shirtand will run you $70 for Friday, $80 for Saturday and $65 for Sunday.

Prosit!
