Need a cool down from the August heat? Head for the hills of Winter Park Resort for the fourth annual Winter Park Beer Festival on Saturday, August 10, from noon–5 PM.

This event, which gets bigger ever year, will feature 25 craft breweries and serve over 100 different kinds of beer. Local and national breweries that whille be pouring include AC Golden, Bonfire, Breckenridge, Bristol Brewing, Colorado Cider Company, Copper Kettle, Crabtree, Crazy Mountain, Deschutes, Echo, Fate, Goose Island, Great Divide, Left Hand, New Belguim, Odell, Oskar Blues, Palisade, Prost, San Luis Valley Brewing, Sapporo, Sierra Nevada, Ska Brewing, The Library Sports Grill & Brewery and Upslope. Music is by the great Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers Band with The Groove Hawgs opening.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. A VIP tasting is also available and includes large commemorative stein, private beer tasting in the VIP room and a catered lunch for $65 in advance, $75 at the door. For those without a designated driver, consider spending the night at one of Winter Park's resorts — festival pricing and packages are listed on the Winter Park Resort website.
