Friday, August 9, brings Denver's biggest bash of the summer. The fourth annual Flip Flop Ball will be at Chambers Grant Salon downstairs in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at 14th and Curtis Streets. This formal-informal happening asks Denverites to dress to the nines while feet go casual in flip flops. 

The event will be held in one of LoDo's coolest speakeasy-style venues, giving it an ultra-chic flavor. Diamond Orchestra will provide the music and the event will feature lots of dancing, a lounge area and a cash bar. Advance tickets are just $40 (here) and — if still available — tickets will be $50 at the door. A portion of the ticket price will benefit The Listen Foundation, a small Colorado organization that helps deaf and hard-of-hearing children learn to speak and listen through therapy.

The event is sponsored by KIFAC, Kicking It for a Cause, which provides a variety of adult kickball leagues and charity events around the city. Last year, KIFAC raised more than $5,000 for The Listen Foundation and helped over 100 families.
