What are you doing New Year’s Eve? New Year’s Eve is when Denver shines, and you don’t want to miss the fun. Check out all the holiday parties, both big and small, to fit your type of evening. Also, with NYE falling on a Saturday, many downtown hotels will be offering special overnight packages to keep you safe this New Year’s. Don’t forget RTD will have free rides starting at 7 PM New Year’s Eve until 7 AM New Year’s Day. Have fun and stay safe out there!

Downtown Fireworks
The sky will sparkle like diamonds once again this New Year’s Eve as the city celebrates the end of the year with fireworks on the 16th Street Mall. Enjoy two free firework shows, the first at the family-friendly hour of 9 PM and then again at midnight. Costumed entertainers will be on the street to interact with the crowd including magicians, mascots, stilt walkers, comedians and more. Get there early and have dinner and drinks at any of the mall’s fine eateries or tuck into one after the fireworks for a nightcap. (16th Street Mall Downtown)

Black Tie Party
This annual New Year’s Eve party will be held at the Downtown Sheraton Hotel in a 28,000 sq. ft. chandelier-studded ballroom where Denver’s best dressed denizens come together to celebrate both the end of the old year and the start of the new. Enjoy live music and national DJs. There will also be Vegas-style casino games and a confetti blast and champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $99 and available online. (1550 Court Pl.)

Countdown Party at Union Station
Denver’s Union Station will ring in the evening with not one, not two, but three NYE parties. The Great Hall Silent DJ Party will feature DJs from New York’s Sound Off spinning beats as guests dance while listening through LED-lighted head phones. Tickets are $20. There will be a speakeasy party on the lower level featuring live music by Gypsy Swing Review from 10 PM to 1 AM. Tickets are $85 per person in advance and $100 per person at the door. These tickets include access to the Silent DJ. Finally, enjoy an intimate party in the Cooper Lounge with a complimentary glass of Veuve Cliquot at midnight in a commemorative Cooper Lounge Flute. Tickets for the Cooper Lounge are $75 per person. All tickets can be purchased through the Union Station website and Eventbrite. (1701 Wynkoop St.)

Decadence NYE at Colorado Convention Center      
This party is so big, it will be held over two nights at the Colorado Convention Center.  Enjoy the City of Dreams on December 30 and 31, featuring multiple arenas stacked with world-class entertainment and elegant displays. The parties begin at 6:30 PM and go late into the night. December 30 will feature Bassnectar, Disclosure, GRiZ, Marshmello, RL Grime and Baauer, while December 31 will feature The Chainsmokers, Eric Prydz, Flume, and Tiesto. This is an 18 and over event with bars available for 21 and over. Tickets are $108 per person General Admission and $139 per person for VIP. Some packages are already sold out, so get yours today. Denver’s Grandest New Year’s Eve Party
Presented by the Grand Hyatt Denver Downtown and MIX 100.3 FM, Denver’s Grandest NYE party includes open bar with premium pours, admission to four areas of entertainment, buffet dinner, party hats and balloon drop galore. Dance to music from The Nacho Men, Mashup Dance Party, and Denver’s Dueling Piano Bar and Karaoke. Tickets are $159 per person and overnight packages in the hotel start at $429 per room. Let’s Party Like Gatsby at Punch Bowl Social
The fun and games are at PBS for New Year’s. Inspired by The Great Gatsby, this party will feature 20s-style live music, a balloon drop, and champagne toast at midnight. Expect other surprises at this mad-cap flapper party. Entrance is free, but the food and drink are pay as you go. (65 Broadway; 303-765-2695)

Midnight Madness at Ace Eat Serve
Things take a competitive turn at Ace Eat Serve on New Year’s Eve. Sign up for the Midnight Madness Pong Tournament sponsored by Diageo. Play starts at 9 PM with the Championship Game at midnight. Registration is $17 and includes a tournament t-shirt. A cash prize of $1000 goes to the winner. Guests and players can enjoy a special drink and snacks menu starting at 9 PM as well. NYE at Club Wings
Party old school in a World War II-era aircraft hangar when Wings Over the Rockies hosts an evening of drinks and dancing from 8 PM to 2 AM. DJ Wonder will fill the hangar with a blend of original electronic dance music and exclusive remixes. The will also be performances by Sur Ellz. Tickets are $135 per person for all you can eat, drink and dance. Bottle service and private lounges are available. Hotel packages with transportation are available and includes a breakfast buffet on New Year’s Day. Ticket available on the Wing’s website and museum members receive a $20 discount. (7711 E. NYE Masquerade Countdown at Fado
Celebrate NYE at Fado with a rockin’ masquerade party. DJ Rockstar Aaron will be spinning beats from 8 PM to Midnight. Tickets include party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $60 per person at the door, but a few early bird discounted tickets are available online. Tickets get you an all-you-can-drink package. (1735 19th St.; 303-297-0066)

Resolution New Year’s Eve
Held at The Curtis Hotel downtown, guests 21 and over will enjoy an all-inclusive premium open bar, Denver’s best DJ, and live bands along with theatrical performers and glamorous décor. Countdown to the New Year with a massive balloon drop, confetti and light show plus 28 bartenders to serve you. Early bird tickets for $99 per person are still available online and the party starts at 9 PM. (1401 Curtis St.)

The Soiled Dove Underground
Denver’s best intimate music venue will host Young Dubliners from Ireland on New Year’s Eve. Doors open at 8 PM. Tickets are $40-60 and can be purchased online. (7401 E. 1st Ave.; 303-830-9214)

Tavern Downtown
Head to LoDo for DecaDance at The Tavern. The party includes two dance floors, four DJs, and only one cover charge. Enjoy a rooftop fireworks display, raffle prizes, photo booth and balloon drop at midnight. Tickets are $35 pre-sale and include a beer, a Fireball shot, champagne toast and party favors. Tickets can be purchased on the website. Presale ends at 6:30 PM New Year’s Eve. (1949 Market St.; 303-299-0100)

White Rose Gala
The Roaring 20s will back to life at the White Rose Gala at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Costumed guests will enjoy a speakeasy area, multiple levels and balconies, flapper girls, live music from Swing Je T’aime and more than 40 performers. The party ends with a confetti blast at midnight with party hats and noise makers. Tickets are $79 per person for General Admission and $149 per person for VIP. Discounts for multiple ticket packs are available. Dress to impress preferably in Roaring 20s attire. (1400 Curtis St.; 720-507-1376)

ViewHouse Glow Downtown
Downtown ViewHouse presents Glow NYE featuring an illuminated dance floor, black lights, glow-in-the-dark décor and color. The party includes an extravagant buffet dinner, dancing with three DJs and complimentary champagne toast and views of the fireworks from the rooftop. Party only tickets are $25-35 per person. Other tickets include $65 per person for General Admission and five “open bar” drinks. Buffet dinner tickets are $55 per person and include two drinks. ViewHouse Centennial Roaring Twenties NYE
In the Tech Center, ring in the new with an old time Roaring 20s party featuring swing and jazz music in a vintage club atmosphere. Jam to Barron Steffens’ Big Band or dance to the DJ on the rooftop. There will also be a five-course prix fixe dinner available. Party only tickets are $25-30 per person. For $65 per person receive General Admission tickets with five “open bar” drinks or reserve the dinner package for $85 per person. Check the website for dinner seating times and bottle service.
