Get Yourself to the 46th Annual Denver Oktoberfest, Sept. 25-27

One of the country’s largest Oktoberfest festivals is right here in Denver, and for six glorious days, we can enjoy all things Bavarian. Denver Oktoberfest is September 25-27 at 20th and Larimer Streets in the Ballpark neighborhood.

Begun in Larimer Square in 1969, Denver Oktoberfest has grown so large, it was moved to 20th and Larimer in 2007 to accommodate the over 350,000 people that attend each year. Why is it so popular? Because the festival has everything! There are two music stages, German-themed contests, delicious food, and LOTS of beer.

The festival also has one of the country’s more serious Stein Holding competitions with pre-qualifying rounds each day of the festival before culminating in a finals competition at 9 PM on Saturday, September 26. The festival goes out with a bang on Sunday, September 27, with the incredibly popular Long Dog Derby featuring dachshounds running on a race track. There are also races for non-wiener dogs and a dog costume contest. No dog? No problem. Join the Keg Bowling contest or the brat eating contest.

The best part? The event is free to enter while the food and beer are purchased through a ticket system. However, guests can pre-order a commemorative Denver Oktoberfest 32 oz. beer stein which includes two beer tickets in advance and will be available at the festival without having to wait in the regular line. Cost for stein pre-order is $27. Also for purchase are special VIP tickets that include access to a special VIP area featuring all-you-can-eat food and beer, the commemorative 32 oz. beer stein, an Oktoberfest T-shirt, and an authentic German hat. VIP tickets are $75 per person on Friday, $100 per person on Saturday, and $65 per person on Sunday. Get a weekend pass for $175. Tickets can also be purchased online
