Inaugural South Denver Beer Festival, May 4-5

What better way to enjoy the first weekend in May than an outdoor beer fest? The first-ever South Denver Beer Festival goes down this Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5, at Clement Park in Littleton. Featuring 50-60 breweries, both local and national, the festival will be held in a fun outdoor setting near a lake with a view of the Rocky Mountains.

This new event will offer tastes of over 120 beers, as well as a huge selection of gluten-free adult beverages and several non-alcoholic drinks. A variety of food trucks will be on hand for those who get hungry. There are also prizes to be given away for best beard and moustache and best costume. Look for brews from Deschutes, Asher, Caution, Boulder Beer, Fate, Ska, Pug Ryan's, Santa Fe Brewing, Grand Teton, Pikes Peak, and Paradox. The VIP tent will feature Black Canyon Distilling, Syntax Spirits, Feisty, Golden Moon Distillery, Roundhouse, Veree Chocolate, Avalanche Cheese and Mouco Cheese.

Special VIP tickets ($85) get you in an hour early, plus a limited festival t-shirt and special access to a master distiller and the cheese and chocolate tent. General admission ($40) includes a souvenir tasting cup, access to the beer education area and shuttle service.

Doors open at 1 PM for VIP ticket holders and at 2 PM for everyone else and the fest ends at 5 PM both days. Clement Park is located just east of Wadsworth Boulevard and Bowles Avenue in Littleton. The South Denver Beer Festival encourages everyone to use public transportation by linking up with Bus to Show, a company that will be providing FREE shuttle service to and from the Downtown Littleton Light Rail Station from noon to 6:30 PM both days. Paid bus service will also be available from Boulder, Golden and Denver to and from the festival. South Denver's TownePlace Suites by Marriott is also offering an $85 per night rate for those who need a place to stay during the event.
