Twenty restaurants in Denver’s LoDo area have gotten together to provide small bites, desserts and drink specials as part of a walking tour designed to showcase the Mile High City’s growing culinary prowess. “LoDo Bites is one of the few events that allows restaurants to truly showcase their food and their space,” says Ryan King of LoDo Bites Inc. “It actually brings the participants into the restaurant so they can get the true experience.”
Check in at the beautifully refurbished Union Station and visit as many of the restaurants as is possible (and safe) from 5–9 PM.
Here’s a preview of a few of the bites:
The Corner Office will feature duck banderillas – bacon wrapped duck skewers with an apricot praline while
Hapa Sushi will feature Hawaiian tuna poke served on a crispy gyoza chip and the No. 9
roll (crab shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with salmon,
avocado and sweet soy). Hapa will have a vegetable gyoza and a cucumber and avocado roll for vegetarians.
Milkbox Ice Creamery will offer a handmade ice cream scoop from Little Man Ice Cream while Terminal Bar will pour some Terminal Punch, which is made with rum, black tea, demerara and lime nutmeg.
Zoe Ma Ma will have a potsticker and crystal shrimp dumpling alongside wine and beer specials, and Machete will have a Cordero Taco Bite – braised lamb shank with avocado puree and queso panela paired with a house drink.
Other participating restaurants include Backcountry Delicatessen, bd’s Mongolian Grill, Coohills, Lodo’s Bar and Grill, Stoic and Genuine, Tom’s Urban and Vesta Dipping Grill.
Tickets are $35 and are available here.
