Cool Off With a Waterfront Kitchen Dinner and Cruise

This summer has already been a hot one, but there’s one place you can go that’s guaranteed to be cool and breezy -- out on the water. July 19 is the first of Waterfront Kitchen’s "dinner and a cruise" series, a near weekly event that combines cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a sail along the Patapsco River and a four-course wine dinner.

Depending on the date, after drinks and light bites on the pier outside the restaurant, you’ll board the Chesapeake skipjack Sigsbee or the "Pungy" schooner Lady Maryland for a 1½-hr voyage. After the guided tour down the river, you'll return to the seed-to-table dining room for a paired meal featuring wines of a certain theme. Most evenings begin at 6 PM.

The price for any of the events (there are nine scheduled over the next few months) is $129, and tickets must be purchased in advance. The inaugural dinner will highlight summertime reds and grilled food, and future themes include wines of Argentina, Syrah from around the world and Pinot Noir with fall game birds. Check out the available dates below, and plan to keep cool with a sail down the river.
