Live Music to Celebrate Labor Day Weekend 2014 at the Shore

Live Music to Celebrate Labor Day Weekend 2014 at the Shore

As the summer comes to an end, we’re finding as many ways as possible to put off all those pesky Jersey Shore Labor Day jobs. Packing? Pass. Cleaning up the shore house? Maybe later.

Our search for the ultimate tools for procrastination led us to find some live music and drink specials to celebrate the end of the summer in full style. Grab a drink and listen to some great tunes and really take a minute to enjoy just how great the summer of 2014 was.

The Boiler Room: One of Cape May’s hottest beach-front bars heats up even more with the help of The Dane Anthony Band on Friday and Banana Trio on Sunday. The dance floor provides more than enough space to dance away the summer, while the bar keeps serving until close. Check out their rotating specials for a full weekend of variety. (200 Congress Pl., Cape May; 888-944-1816)

Kix McNutley’s: Sure, live music is great, but after a few cocktails or beers we all become rockstars ourselves, right? So stop by Hot Sounds Karaoke on Friday night and belt out some of your favorites tunes to an audience. Kix McNutley’s also has it’s own bar for take-out, so you can take your show on the road and head back to your own private stage. (63rd St., Sea Isle City, 609-263-6341)

The Princeton: The Princeton remains one of the hottest shore spots up the entire coast, and with good reason. Hop on the Avalon jitney- that’s right you don’t even have to worry about a designated driver- and check out Philly band, Rise on Sunday for the End of Summer Bash, and enjoy a full crowd ready to celebrate the end of the season. (2008 Dune Dr., Avalon, 609-967-3456)

Cattle ‘n Clover: Along with live, Irish tunes provided by Flip-n-Mickeys on Saturday, you can enjoy some of Cattle ‘n Clover’s really unique cocktails, like the Honey Nut Tini, which blends honey-flavored whiskey with Frangelico, Tuaca and a splash of cream, then gets garnished with a rim of Honey Nut Cheerios. Of course, there’s the classic Irish Guiness and Jameson, but why not end the summer with a bang? (3817 Pacific Ave., Wildwood, 609-522-3800)

Martell’s Tiki Bar: You can go from day-to-night at the Tiki Bar, and what better way to end a stellar summer than with a sundown beach party? Live music and DJs will keep things bumping all weekend long, while you enjoy frozen blends, rum runners and ice cold beers until sun-up. (308 Boardwalk, Point Pleasant, 732-892-0131)

Landshark Bar & Grill: Why not waste away the last unofficial weekend of the summer in Margaritaville? Hit the beach of the Landshark Bar & Grill and watch the sun set with the help of Five Times Famous. You could grab any of their wild and wacky shots- like the Brain Dart featuring habanero lime syrup- or kick back with your feet in the sand a margarita in hand. (1133 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, 609-431-4120)

Steve & Cookies: If you’re looking for a quieter weekend, Steve & Cookies helps you celebrate with some upscale tunes all weekend long. Grab a martini or cocktail and sip away the summer in peace with some smooth tunes and fantastic bar bites. (9700 Amherst Ave., Margate, 609-823-1163)
