Where to Ring in 2018 in Denver

Time to ask that annual question. What are you doing New Year’s Eve? You have until midnight on Sunday, December 31, to make something happen. If you don’t know where to go, DrinkDenver is here to help. Whether you are looking for an elegant evening, a giagantic confetti-laced blowout or perhaps a more subdued gathering, we’ve gotcha covered. Just remember to enjoy the evening responsibly and RTD buses and light rail will be FREE from 7 PM until 7 AM New Year’s Day.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks, 16th St. Mall
Denver’s most spectacular tradition is the holiday fireworks outdoors on the mall. There are two shows on New Year’s Eve with the family friendly early version at 9 PM and the second one at midnight. For the best views stand along the 16th Street Mall where magicians, mascots, balloon artists, stilt walkers and comedians will entertain between the two shows. This event is FREE, but note between 8 PM and 1 AM, RTD mall busses will not be running and light rail trains will not be crossing 16th Street. (16th and Arapahoe)

Champagne Mansion Party, Parkside Mansion
Enjoy an upscale open bar party on NYE at the elegant Parkside Mansion near City Park. Revel to live music, DJS, photo booths and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $89 per person and doors open at 8 PM. Upscale dress encouraged, but not required. (1859 York St.; 720-319-8441)

City NYE, McNichols Building  
Enjoy a big party at Civic Center Park inside the McNichols Building on New Year’s Eve. Enjoy craft libations, fresh beats, art installations and a midnight blowout. You will also only be a few steps away from the mall’s fireworks show at midnight. Tickets are $39 per person, however, if you wish to purchase Open Bar tickets, those must be added before checkout. Early Bird tickets for early entry to the event are $49 per person and Open Bar tickets must also be added. Group rates, VIP Tables and Bottle Service available, but must be reserved in advance. Decadence 2017, Colorado Convention Center
OK millennials, rave like you mean it at Decadence 2017. This 18 and over dance party will feature two nights of music. On Saturday, December 30, groove to Bassnectar, Diplo, Gramatik and Justice. On Sunday, December 31, get down to Armin van Buuren, Big Gigantic, Galantis, ODESZA, Porter Robinson and Zedd. Tickets are $89-$129 per person. Two day passes are also available. Denver’s Grandest NYE Party, Grand Hyatt Denver
Enjoy three parties in one with open bar, dinner buffet, and champagne toast at midnight. Dance the night away as you move from one ballroom to another jamming to the Nacho Men, Club X and Karaoke in the hotel lobby. Party only tickets are $159 per person and can be reserved by calling 303-295-1234. Hotel packages are also available. (1750 Welton St.; 303-295-1234)

Great Gatsby White Rose Gala, Ellie Caulkins Opera House
Go back in time on NYE at the elegant Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Relish the Roaring 20s at this charity party with musical and theatrical performances. There will be multiple rooms of music including Je Te’aime Sing Band and DJ Amuse spinning swing house music. Guests will also enjoy a confetti blast at midnight, hats and noise makers. Guests are encouraged to dress in Roaring 20s attire, however, anything elegant will be appropriate. No jeans please. Tickets are $79 per person for General Admission and $129 per person for VIP. New Year’s Eve Countdown Party, Union Station
There are three ways to ring in the New Year with a touch of classic elegance at Denver’s Union Station. Enjoy a fun light show and silent disco in the Great Hall with three DJs spinning tunes. It will lead to an epic light show on the Great Hall ceiling at midnight. Tickets are $50 per person ($75 at the door). Revelers can also head underground at the VIP Lounge with passed canapes, complimentary drinks and an electrifying vinyl DJ set. Tickets for the lounge are $150 per person ($175 at the door). Enjoy a romantic New Year’s Eve dinner in the Cooper Lounge with complimentary glass of Veuve Cliquot and selection of bites. Dining tickets are $75 per person and must be reserved in advance. NYE Limo Bus Bar Crawl, LoDo
Let someone else do the driving at the Limo Bus Bar Crawl. One ticket gets you into six bars, with more to be announced soon. Package includes Limo Bus transportation (hop on/hop off on a rotating loop), $3, $4, and $5 drink specials at participating bars, photo hunt, party favors, and champagne toast at midnight. Venues include Celtic Market, Retro Room, Sidecar Lounge, Zanzibar Billiards, and Refinery. Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased online. Check in begins at 8 PM and limo bus runs until 2 AM.

New Year’s Eve on the Rocks, Red Rocks Amphitheatre
In what is a first for this historic outdoor auditorium, New Year’s Eve will be rocking in the cold with today’s hottest hip hop artists. Jam to Migos, Post Malone, Young Thug, Lil Yachty, Dizzy Wright and King Green at this NYE all-ages show. Tickets are $175 per person and VIP Tickets are $350. Topgolf NYE  
Try something different for NYE by swinging the clubs at Topgolf Centennial. Enjoy several all-inclusive packages with live entertainment, a chef-inspired menu and midnight celebration. All New Year’s Eve packages include unlimited game play from 9 PM to close and party favors for up to six guests. VIP packages include access to a hand-carved prime rib dinner buffet. First Floor Bay reservations are $225 per bay (up to eight guests) and food and beverage are purchased separately. VIP Second and Third Floor Bays are $450 per bay for up to six guests and include one bottle of Chandon Brut. (10601 E. Easter Ave.; 720-880-3151)

Umphrey’s McGee, Fillmore Auditorium  
Denver’s favorite jam band, Umphrey’s McGee will play three full nights at the Fillmore beginning Friday, December 29. Let 2017 end in psychedelic style by attending the New Year’s Eve performance on Sunday. Tickets start at $88 per person and can be purchased online. Doors open at 8 PM.  (1510 N.
