Thanks Dad!
Where to Take Dad for a Drink on Father's Day

On Sunday, June 19, we celebrate all things Dad. It’s a time to tell the men in our lives how much they mean to us and say thank you for being there. A great way to do that is to take him out for a nice meal and a beverage at one of these fine establishments.

Cook Street School
Does your dad like to cook? At the Bites n’ Brews class on Friday, June 17, Dad will learn the basics of cooking with beer using a menu that complements flavors and pairs them with beers. The cost of the class is $99 and it begins at 6 PM. Gift cards for upcoming classes are also available.

If your dad wants to be the best griller on the block, sign him up for the Father’s Day Grilling Class on Father’s Day. He will learn how to master grilling techniques and cook various ingredients on an open flame for $89. Class includes a complete meal and a selection of craft beers from local breweries. Class is from 11 AM to 2:30 PM. (1937 Market St.; 303-308-9300)

Del Frisco’s Grille
For Father’s Day treat dad to a Prime Rib Dinner featuring a 16 oz. slab next to a heaping mound of hand-mashed potatoes. This special dinner will be available both Saturday and Sunday. Available now, anyone can enter a special Del Frisco contest to win Father’s Day prizes including a Yeti cooler, Prime Beef Burgers, a Del Frisco’s steak knives set and a $100 gift card for a return visit. Enter by filling out the form on the website.  (100 St. Paul St.; 303-320-8529)

Postino Wife Café
Bring dad into Postino for $5 pitchers of beer all afternoon (until 5 PM) on Father’s Day. Featured beers are Victory Prima Pilsner and Four Peaks Hop Knot IPA. And why should moms get all the sweet treats? Dads can also enjoy $5 Mimosas or White Peach Belinis all day long. (2715 17th St.; 303-433-6363)

Punch Bowl Social
Bring dad to this funky eatery for some fun and games on Father’s Day. Every dad will get one chance to bowl a strike or three attempts to hit a dartboard bulls-eye. Those who are successful will receive a FREE meal. Drink specials include $2 Old Man Cans and $5 Old Fashioneds. Spend the rest of the day bonding with dad over games of ping pong, skee ball, corn hole and vintage video games. (65 Broadway; 303-765-2695)

Simms Steakhouse
Take dad on a safari of food at the Big Buck Father’s Day Dinner on Saturday, June 18, at 7 PM. Enjoy a six-course “wild game” dinner paired with special and rare Scotches from The Dalmore including the 18-year Scotch and King Alexander III. The unusual dishes include bison, alligator, fried rattlesnake and ostrich and the cost is $100 per person. (11911 W. 6th Ave.; 303-237-0465)

Thirsty Lion Gastropub (1605 Wynkoop; 303-623-0316)
Dad can enjoy half-priced beer flights all day long on Father’s Day. With 52 beers on tap, that could be a difficult choice. The TV’s in the bar will stream sports all day long as well.

ViewHouse Centennial (7101 S. Clinton St.; 303-816-3160)
Treat dad to a Father's Day BBQ Brunch Buffet at the ViewHouse in the Tech Center on Sunday from 10 AM to 2 PM. Enjoy Eggs Benedict Skillet Casserole and Carved Stranahan's Whiskey Brisket. For drinks dad get a Root Beer Float Station or a DIY Bloody Mary Bar. Brunch is $36.95 for adults, $9.95 for kids 6-12 and children six and under are free.

World of Beer (Belmar, 7260 W. Alaska Dr., Unit A; 303-934-2304: Cherry Creek, 660 S. Colorado Blvd.; 303-757-0506)
