Collaboration Fest Tap List Released

Organizers of the Second Annual Collaboration Fest, which is coming up on March 17, have released an initial list of beers that will be available at the sudsy soiree. The Festival, which spotlights beers made together by multiple breweries, results in some great one-time beers made by breweries from inside and outside Colorado.

To be blunt: There’s gonna be some good shit here. (Yes, that’s a Colorado pot joke.) Here are a few highlights from the list so far:

Comrade and Crooked Stave—both from Denver— will make an imperial wit. I have no idea how this will turn out, but I know that Crooked Stave makes some of the best sour beers in the country and Comrade makes the best IPA in Denver, and probably Colorado.

Denver’s Epic Brewing Company and Devils Backbone of Virginia are teaming up on “Midnight Mischief,” which they’re describing as a non-traditional American hopped black lager Schwarzbier. Both of these breweries nail just about everything they make, so this should be worthy of a sample. Or two.

Craft beer stalwarts Ska Brewing and Stone Brewing Collaboration will bring “Mighty Mighty Bastogne”— “tripel tripple” brewed with Bagstonge Belgian Ale yeast.  Sound interesting? Better join us, the beer won’t be available outside the fest.

Denver’s Station 26 Brewing Co. and Cigar City out of Florida will be serving a white IPA made with wheat, oats and orange peel and hopped with Amarillo, Citra, Lemondrop, Mandarina Bavaria and Summer hop varieties. It’s hard to see how this beer could go wrong.

Strange Craft Beer Company in Denver and Freetail Brewing Company out of Texas are collaborating on StrangeTail IV, which will either be a Belgian IPA or hoppy saison—only attendees will know.

The second annual Collaboration Fest runs from 3–7 PM on March 21 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. For a more complete and updated beer list or to buy tickets, visit www.collaborationfest.com/the-beer/
