Have a literary evening at Argyll's Burns Night
Argyll Whisky Beer will celebrate the birthday of Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns on Sunday, January 25, with an evening of Scottish food and entertainment from 5 to 9 PM. The bard was born 256 years ago and is not only the man who penned Auld Lang Syne, but a prolific writer of poetry and songs mostly about his beloved homeland.
Chef John Broening will offer a variation on traditional Scottish haggis along with other delightful dishes and the meal will be paired with a special cocktail, the Bobby Burns. While built like a Rob Roy, the Burns will incorporate Benedictine with Scotch whisky, sweet vermouth and Angustura bitters. There will also be traditional music with a Celtic band, dancing and readings of Burns’ poetry.
Scottish meal choices are from $9 to $26. The cocktail is extra. Reservations can be made by calling 303-847-0850. Argyll is located at 1035 E. 17th Ave.
