Drink Pink to Fight Breast Cancer this October

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so you may have seen a lot of pink around town. Well, now you can drink your pink at these Denver bars and restaurants and proceeds from each will go to various organizations to support research, treatment and help with funding for those dealing with breast cancer. So make it pink and let’s drink!

La Biblioteca, Tamayo and Zengo will be serving Pink Ribbon Agua Fresca all month long. This refreshing non-alcoholic drink is filled with antioxidants so drinking it is actually good for you. For every beverage imbibed, these restaurants will donate $1 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Ale House at Amato’s, Breckenridge Colorado Craft, Session Kitchen, Wazee Super Club and Wynkoop Brewing Company are serving up the Pink Drink Acai Cosmo this month. The Acai Cosmo is made with Veev Acai Spirit, lime juice, Triple Sec and cranberry. For each cosmo consumed, these restaurants will donate $1 to Sense of Security, a Colorado organization that provides help for financial hardships for Colorado patients in treatment. Also participating is Mainline in Fort Collins.

Both locations of the ViewHouse Restaurant and Bar are serving Pinktinis all month long. The sweet and creamy Pinktini is made with Kettle One Vodka, fresh strawberries, Triple Sec, fresh orange, cranberry juice and a splash of heavy cream. For each ‘tini taken ViewHouse is donating 25% of the proceeds to The Cancer League of Colorado for breast cancer research.

The Corner Office downtown, Kachina Southwestern Grill in Westminster and Second Home Kitchen + Bar in Cherry Creek, are all offering up different Pink Drinks for October. At Second Home try the Pretty in Pink with Dry Fly Gin, sour cherry, lime, Peychaud’s bitters and Prosecco. Kachina has the Prickly Pixie with Cazadores Tequila, Reposado, prickly pear puree, Patron Citronge, orange liqueur and lime. The Corner Office offers The Other Woman with American Harvest Vodka, Lillet Rose, strawberry and lemon. For each libation lapped, all restaurants will donate $1 from each cocktail to The Pink Ribbon Foundation. The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a Denver group that provides funds to support cancer patients at the University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Cancer Pavilion.

The Hard Rock Cafe Denver on the 16th Street Mall is offering a flight of Pink Margaritas for October. For $15 get a flight of three margaritas, Watermelon, Pomegranate and Wildberry, along with pink tortilla chips and house-made salsa. Other Pinktober drinks include the new Red Berry Press and a non-alcholic Wildberry Smoothie. There is also a Red Velvet Cake for $5.95. A portion of the proceeds will go to breast cancer research efforts.
