Where to Watch the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Denver

Where to Watch the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Denver

Just as cabin fever is reaching epidemic levels here in the Mile High City, the XXII Olympic Winter Games are here to save us from our frigid boredom. They kick off on Fri., Feb. 7 and run through Sun., Feb. 23. And if all the snowboarding, ski jumping, bobsledding and luging doesn’t provide enough of a distraction to shake you from your seasonal affective disorder, perhaps heading out to one of the bars listed below and enjoying a few winter game-themed specials will.

Blake Street Tavern (2301 Blake St.; 303-675-0505)
If the winter games playing out across this downtown pub’s 45 HD TVs and ridiculously large 130-inch digital projection screen can’t hold your attention, there’s always pool, shuffleboard, darts, and Golden Tee.

Candlelight Tavern (383 S Pearl St.; 303-778-9530)
Consistently ranked as Denver’s Best Dive and one of the city’s Friendliest Neighborhood Bars, this 50-plus year old institution also serves as a great place to catch up on sports, Winter Olympics included.

Cap City Tavern (1247 Bannock St.; 720-931-8888)
With more HD TVs than a Best Buy showroom there literally isn’t a bad seat in the house at this Southwest sports bar for viewing the winter games.

Chopper's (80 S. Madison St.; 303-399-4448)
Chopper’s boasts crispy housemade potato chips, unreal burgers and walls covered in flat screen TVs. What more could you ask for in a sports bar? Did we mention it also has 50-plus Colorado craft beers on draft?

Highland Tap and Burger (2219 W 32nd Ave.; 720-287-4493)
The Highland neighborhood’s go-to for Colorado’s best craft brews and mind-blowing burgers also has 17 50-inch HDTVs for you to get your Winter Olympics fix.

Sports Column (1930 Blake St.; 303-296-1930)
Ranked as one of Denver’s best sports bars time and again, this LoDo spot has TVs as far as the eye can see, awesome food, and great drink specials.
