22nd Annual Colorado Mountain Winefest, September 19-22

Celebrate the end of the grape harvest at Colorado Mountain Winefest, the state's largest wine festival. Held September 19–22, this event is filled with local wine, food and fun as vinters from all over the state show off their best bottles in the friendly town of Palisade.

The weekend will culminate on Saturday, September 21, at a daylong festival in Riverbend Park that features over 45 wineries along with artisans, food vendors and music. For those who want something a little more active, join Bacchus and his merry band of bikers on a 25-mile bicycle ride through Grand Valley. The ride is on paved roads and gives riders the chance to see the valley's beautiful vineyards and fruit orchards.

Cost for the Saturday festival is $45 for drinkers and $25 for non-drinkers. Drinkers receive a 2013 wine glass and tote, seminars, chef demos, live music and access to the popular grape stomp. VIP passes are $190 and include a separate entrance with access to the shaded VIP Pavilion, commemorative Riedel crystal wine glass, wine tote filled with gifts, exclusive parking, delicious food, concierge wine storage and unlimited tastings. VIP tickets are also good for the Grand Junction shuttle bus.

Events start even earlier, on Thursday, September 19, with wine dinners and special happy hours throughout Grand Junction. Festivities continue through Sunday, September 22. Visit WineColorado.org for event information and to purchase tickets. For lodging information, go to VisitGrandJunction.com.
